$20–$25 per hour (DOE)
Job Summary
Freestone Family Medicine and Wellness is seeking a reliable and patient-focused Medical Assistant or LPN to join our new primary care clinic in Idaho Falls. This is a full-time hybrid role combining clinical duties with front desk and patient care coordination responsibilities. This role will be shared by another team member as the clinic grows to provide the team more flexibility.
Ideal candidates have experience in family medicine or primary care (or similar) and are comfortable with both back-office clinical support and front-office administrative tasks.
Our clinic will focus on lifestyle medicine and wellness - it would be a plus if candidates also have a passion for fitness, nutrition, and more!
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Update medical history, medications, and allergies in EMR
- Perform point-of-care testing (UA, strep, flu, A1c, etc.)
- Administer vaccines and injections
- Assist with minor procedures
- Process prescription refill requests
- Coordinate labs, imaging, and referrals
Front Desk and Administrative Tasks
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Collect copays and patient balances
- Process prior authorizations
- Scan documents and manage records in EMR
- Support billing and office workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred or equivalent experience
- 1+ year primary care experience preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Compensation and Benefits
- $20–$25 per hour depending on experience
- 15 days paid time off
- Simple IRA with 5% match for retirement
- Stable weekday schedule (no nights or weekends) with observation of six federal holidays
